Jason Lai
Jason’s practice focuses on business law in the area of corporate commercial.
His practice includes advising corporations, partnerships, and start-ups on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including: new incorporations; corporate maintenance such as annual returns, corporate resolutions and shareholder meetings; shareholder agreements; corporate financing, including raising start-up capital; purchase and sale of a business; reorganizations; mergers and acquisitions; corporate dissolutions and winding up; and business transactional activity such as drafting and negotiating leasing, licensing, distribution, consulting and service agreements.
Jason also has experience assisting clients with dispute resolution, and has represented clients before courts in Alberta and British Columbia.
Jason completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta. Prior to attending law school, he obtained his Bachelors of Commerce in Accounting at the University of Alberta’s School of Business. During his time in law school, he volunteered with Student Legal Services and with Pro Bono Law Alberta through their Civil Claims Duty Counsel program.
